Some years ago, a very important Japanese businessman visited the United States. He arrived in Chicago and went to a hotel. He put his briefcase on the floor , to register. When he went to pick it up again, he couldn’t find it. He had 129 000 yens (more than 900 dollars), his passport, credit cards and some pictures of his family in his briefcase.

He reported the loss to the security agents. They looked for the briefcase, but, unfortunately, they couldn’t find it.

The businessman felt disppointed. He thought Americans were not very honest.

He returned to Japan, and three weeks later he received by mail and envelope with his credit cards. A few days later, he received a money order for $ 900. he also found a note from the man who was sending all his things back.

When he visited USA the next time, he went to see this man and they talked. The man said he had found the briefcase near some trash cans. when he saw the money and cards in a secret pocket, he decided to send them back. He took the money to the bank and the gave him a money order. He was a very poor man, but he didn’t keep the money and he sent it back to Japan.

That day they became good friends, and they are still friends. Whenever the businessman goes to the United States, the get together and talk a lot.

This friendship was the result of honesty.
